TEAM BUILDING GONE AMOK SCENARIO - HOW IT WORKS

SETTING THE SCENE

An ambush murder mystery begins in the guise of some other purpose. This is a version where we are in attendance to provide a team building workshop, which we actually do. It is a bit more expensive because we bring our actual facilitators. We have a LEAD FACILITATOR, a MALE ASSISTANT who thinks that he is smarter than the lead, and a FEMALE ASSISTANT who is obviously the girlfriend of the lead. We can do this without an infidelity theme and have various offshoots. We describe the infidelity version here, however. They lead a workshop and subtly get across their plots.

THE "OH NO!" MOMENT

During the team building, towards the end, the lead facilitator's WIFE arrives. Alternatively, we sometimes get invited to join your dinner after the event and she arrives just before dessert. If we are not doing the infidelity scenario, there's usually a confrontation about broken promises, etc. The characters continue to grow the problems between them and walk a fine line to try to cause tension but not to the point that audience members intercede.

THE CRIME

The LEAD announces that the next activity is the last and gets his glass of water to do a toast. He make his toast, takes a drink of water and dies. At that point the audience is made aware that it is a murder mystery. After all, we don't want them calling the police!

SOLVING THE CRIME

The comedic detective takes over. Often, this is played by the victim. Besides being a qualified team building workshop facilitator, he is also a professional comedian with the ability to get your people laughing. The detective pulls people up and does a comedy routine to get information out about the crime with the help of the audience. Once the suspects are narrowed down, the audience is asked to determine the murderer for the chance to win not-very-expensive prizes!

We will have conversations prior to the event to clarify your actual team building needs that we might be able to address. We work this like a true team building event with the purpose of achieving your goals. The fact that it turns into an ambush leads the group to think of it more as an entertainment event instead of having the purpose of the workshop. Additionally, the solving of the crime is done as a group activity as teams submit answers as work groups.

The audience believes that a comedian was hired for the evening and he shows up with his girlfriend. It's all fine until his wife arrives! Similarly, we have a Game Show Host scenario and a Dueling Comedians scenario.

Our team appears at your party with the CEO of the company taking over your company. It's a very fun way to face down rumors of problems in the company. After all, if management can joke about it, the rumors must be false!

The bartender at a rehearsal dinner or reception used to date the bride. Uh oh! Obviously the bride will be in on the mayhem, but it's a way to puncture the stress bubble that often surrounds exchanging vows.

Having caterers engaged in an event is perfectly normal. A little less normal is for everyone at the party getting drawn into the drama of the caterers. Their tension leads to homicide followed by a comedic investigation!

We have the ability to create just about any scenario for your group. We've done all kinds of Keynote Speakers, other entertainers, family members and romantic interests. Simply ask. There is never an obligation until we get a signed contract.

Even though we have those themes, really we customize to you and can develop any scenario. Our cost can fluctuate greatly as we adjust the number of actors and the various skills that they might have to have to meet the needs of your scenario. Simply discuss these options with our director to learn more.
Likewise, the scripts can be adjusted to bring your audience members under suspicion. They can be interrogated and engaged in a roast type of environment. They can be found innocent by the audience with them getting applause. If you prefer, we can keep them as key suspects by using information known about their past to dig them deeper into the murder mystery.

We recycle, utilize local talent when preferable, and look to leave places better than we found them. When we do travel, we take pains to reduce our impact on the environment.

This includes in the big cities, the suburbs, or further outside the urban areas. We do not provide the food or the venue. We come to you and help you to succeed in business without really trying!

WE COME TO YOU!
We work with groups that are small, medium and large. We also work with people that are in the city, the suburbs, and that are in more rural areas. It never made sense to get our own facilities. We come to a venue of your choosing and this allows you to make your own food and beverage options. In general, you want enough light to see, enough space to move around comfortably, and it should be quiet enough to hear. Everything else can be adjusted to. We also have our insurance in order and can have COIs with your venue as an additional insured, if required.

We need to know the city where the event will be as well as what kind of venue might be used. A date, or date range, for when you would like to have this and what time frame you are looking for will help to determine our commitment and availability. Knowing the size of your group, though that will likely just be an estimate, will allow us to choose appropriate options and have a better feel for the resources required.

DO YOU HAVE A BUDGET IN MIND?

If you know budget limitations, that can allow us to restrict the conversations to those options that will be within your financial constraints. This works in both directions. We don't want to overbuild and propose options that can't be done. Also, we don't want to provide less than we could realizing the resources that could be made available to better achieve your goals.
