13, 2006: Comedy event raises $2,500 for Gilda's Club South Florida
THEY improv and Laughing
Gas Performance raises $2,500 for Gilda's Club South Florida.
The event was held at The Improv Comedy Club and Dinner Theater
at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
More than 250 people were in attendance and one lucky winner took
home a raffle prize that included tickets to Emeril Live
and The Colbert Report in New York City.
Majic 102.7 announcer, Joe Johnson, who used to do standup comedy,
volunteered his time to help emcee the show.
Sponsors included Clearview Hurricane Shutters, Roberto &
Associates Title, Atlantic Properties and Mack Multimedia.
"When I was asked to perform at Gilda's Club, I was honored,"
said Todd Rice, director of THEY improv. "I wanted to do
something to honor Gidla Radner and all of those individuals that
have been touched by cancer."
Rice and his troupe have done more than just perform. Members
of the improv troupe have also taught comedy workshops for members
of Gilda's Club.
