We are one of the few performance groups in the country specializing in ambush murder mystery dinners. For smaller groups of people, especially those in corporate or family situations where tension exists, an ambush murder mystery is perfect for creating a fun evening that will burst the bubble of tension and be memorable for all in attendance.
An ambush murder mystery begins in the guise of some other purpose. One of our more popular is that of our providing a stand-up comedian for the evening. That comedian is there with his girlfriend and having a nice time with the attendees. During cocktails and the beginning of the meal these characters are having a nice time mingling with the crowd. There are other characters as well, such as an assistant who believes himself to be a comedian, who also are outgoing and entertaining people.
During the actual meal, the comedian's wife appears and confronts the couple. Instead of a major argument, the comedian claims that the girlfriend is actually just there to take photos or his make-up artist. Tension builds as audience members struggle with the moral implications of not saying anything. The characters continue to grow the problems between them and walk a fine line to try to cause tension but not to the point that audience members intercede.
The comedian gets up to perform at the beginning of dessert. The comedian states that before he performs he wants to make a toast. He takes a drink of water and dies. At that point the audience is made aware that it is a murder mystery. After all, we don't want them calling the police!
The comedic detective takes over. Often, this is played by the victim. The detective pulls people up and does a comedy routine to get information out about the crime with the help of the audience. Once the suspects are narrowed down, the audience is asked to determine the murderer for the chance to win not-very-expensive prizes!
The audience believes that a comedian was hired for the evening and he shows up with his girlfriend. It's all fine until his wife arrives! Similarly, we have a Game Show Host scenario and a Dueling Comedians scenario.
Our team appears at your party with the CEO of the company taking over your company. It's a very fun way to face down rumors of problems in the company. After all, if management can joke about it, the rumors must be false!
We come in and provide a real team building workshop, or moderate an employee activity. The team builders have problems among them and your employees see the team building group unravel and then help pick up the pieces.
The bartender at a rehearsal dinner or reception used to date the bride. Uh oh! Obviously the bride will be in on the mayhem, but it's a way to puncture the stress bubble that often surrounds exchanging vows.
Having caterers engaged in an event is perfectly normal. A little less normal is for everyone at the party getting drawn into the drama of the caterers. Their tension leads to homicide followed by a comedic investigation!
We have the ability to create just about any scenario for your group. We've done all kinds of Keynote Speakers, other entertainers, family members and romantic interests. Simply ask. There is never an obligation until we get a signed contract.
WE CARE FOR YOU! We care for you and your guests. We will discuss your desires for safety measures regarding Covid-19 and want you to feel secure in the knowledge that we are looking out for you, our client.
OUR GREEN COMMITMENT While ultimately we serve our clients in the way that they require, we work hard to reduce the carbon footprint of any event. We recycle, utilize local talent when preferable, and look to leave places better than we found them. When we do travel, we take pains to reduce our impact on the environment.
WE COME TO YOU! We work with groups that are small, medium and large. We also work with people that are in the city, the suburbs, and that are in more rural areas. It never made sense to get our own facilities. We come to a venue of your choosing and this allows you to make your own food and beverage options. In general, you want enough light to see, enough space to move around comfortably, and it should be quiet enough to hear. Everything else can be adjusted to. We also have our insurance in order and can have COIs with your venue as an additional insured, if required.
The first step is to determine your needs. This includes potential goals, desires and concerns. Is it more than just entertainment? If you are looking to show appreciation to clients or employees, for example, then we would take one approach. If it is family and friends, we might approach it differently. The more we know about what has already been decided can allow us to narrow the conversation to approaches that interest you.
We need to know the city where the event will be as well as what kind of venue might be used. A date, or date range, for when you would like to have this and what time frame you are looking for will help to determine our commitment and availability. Knowing the size of your group, though that will likely just be an estimate, will allow us to choose appropriate options for the performance and have a better feel for the resources required.
If you know budget limitations, that can allow us to restrict the conversations to those options that will be within your financial constraints. This works in both directions. We don't want to overbuild and propose options that can't be done. Also, we don't want to not provide a large enough of a show to achieve the results that will exceed your expectations.
Have to sum the night and the group up in one word...AWESOME! Everyone enjoyed the evening immensely and they couldn't stop talking about the "murder"...this pun is intended...they killed it!
