The City by the Bay has a lot of great places to go and things to do. Because we take such pride in our work in the Bay Area, we created this page to have some information about area attractions that you might have an interest in hearing about. There are others, of course, but these are just a few.

Fisherman's Wharf: This world-famous attraction is really a conglomeration of several attractions all in one. With Pier 39, San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, the Cannery Shopping Center, Ghirardelli Square, Ripley's Believe it or Not, the Musée Mécanique, the Wax Museum, Forbes Island and the Hyde Street Pier with the USS Pampanito (WWII submarine) and the Balclutha (whaling ship) on display. That being said, the most often cited reason to visit Fisherman's Wharf is for the food. With little stands with great food and wonderful family maintained restaurants such as Pompeii's and Alioto's #8. People come from all over for the dungeness crab or the sourdough bread bowls filled with clam chowder. Visit their website.

The Golden Gate Bridge: While eight other bridges have surpassed the length of the Golden Gate Bridge, you would be hard pressed to find a bridge that grabs the imagination of the world quite like it. A huge number of visitors drive across the bridge only to turn around and drive back, yet it does serve as a vital thoroughway for commuters. View their website for more information.

Lombard Street: Considered by many to be the crookedest street in America, Lombard Street is a very slow drive with a magnificent view. The fact is that it's not even the crookedest street in San Francisco, but the view is so beautiful and the houses there are treasured. Definitely a must see if you are coming to the Bay Area...and it's free!

Presidio: Formally a military institution, the Presidio is a National Park that looks out at the Golden Gate Bridge and has many historical locations and items of interest. Additionally, for many of the people in nearby Silicon Valley, the place has greater significance as the home of some of Lucasfilms offices (the Letterman Digital Arts Center) and the future home of Starfleet in the StarTrek series. View the Presidio Trust website.

Chinatown: A large community of Chinese settled in San Francisco and transplanted their culture, developing a vibrant area of town. While most people think of Chinatown for the food, the reality is that tehre is much more to the area. With many cultural centers and stores, it's an opportunity to better know a people without having to cross the Pacific.

Alcatraz: The most famous prison in the world has become a tourist attraction. Visitors from around the world flock to the Bay Area to experience the prison that was the ultimate in keeping the prisoners from escaping. Several movies have filmed at The Rock and have garnered much attention for the city by the Bay.
