FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
THEY improv to
Lampoon the Ten Commandments in "Let Thy People Laugh"
at the Mental Ward on August 3rd.
Fort
Lauderdale, FL: THEY improv, South Florida's
leaders in corporate comedy entertainment, celebrates the upcoming
release of the movie, THE TEN, with a special show as part of
their First Friday series at the Mental Ward.
The first 50 attendees will receive free passes to an advanced
screening at Cinema Paradiso of the movie THE TEN starring Paul
Rudd, Jessica Alba, Winona Ryder, Adam Brody, Gretchen Mol, Famke
Janssen, Rob Corddry, Liev Schreiber, Oliver Platt, Justin Theroux
and Ken Marino, none of whom will be at the event. They have too
much class.
THE TEN, which opens in South Florida on August 17th, is comprised
of ten vignettes, each one inspired by one of the Biblical commandments,
THE TEN is an irreverent but hilarious illustration of how bad
behavior makes for good comedy. With each story told in a different
style, but containing overlapping characters and themes, the film
is a grand burlesque boasting an all-star cast that puts the sin
back in cinema.
"THE TEN features some of our generations best actors performing
irreverent comedy," said THEY improv Director Todd Rice.
"What could possibly inspire us more than that?"
The evening will
feature a variety of improvisational pieces including several
inspired by real, and imagined, Commandments.
In honor of THE TEN, the cover charge for the comedy room will
be a roll of a 10-sided die paid to the Mental Ward (cash only).
So it's for $1-10.
This
is part of a series of monthly themed shows THEY improv will be
presenting at the Mental Ward on the first Friday of each month
at 9pm in an often adventurous and always different show.
"It's been said that THEY belong in a Mental Ward,"
said THEY Director Todd Rice. "Now we're there!"
It is quite possible that the event will sell-out. If you want
to reserve seats that will be held until 5 minutes before showtime,
call and leave a message on the THEY improv Hotline at (305) 948-7750.
The cover charge is only the roll of a die, but isn't life
like that?
"We're not sure which Commandments our audience will break,"
said Rice. "Personally I'm hoping for that adultery one!"
