Radio's
WMXJ Majic 102.7 FM has brought together THEY Improv and Laughing
Gas to perform a benefit at the Miami Improv 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The Miami Improv is located in the Shoppes of Mayfair, 3390 Mary
St., No. 182, Coconut Grove.
Doors open at 7 p.m., after which there will be a silent auction
until 8 when the top improvisational talent in South Florida hits
the stage to benefit the long-standing Radio Lollipop program.
The Improv teams really have very big hearts and feelings when
they hear about someone they could help, even if an adult, but
especially for a child.
This
is to be a night of unbridled comedy, top-notch entertainment.
Tickets are $10 (plus tax); there is a two-drink minimum, and
audience members must be 18 years old or older. All ticket money
goes to the charity. You can help the children and have a great
time, too.
Majic 102.7's DJ Joe Johnson will be doing a live part of the
show. What more could you want for a great show and a wonderful
evening?
Radio
Lollipop believes in the healing power of play, having begun in
1978 at Queen Mary's Hospital for Children, in Surrey, England.
Since the beginning, the program has expanded to Australia, New
Zealand and of course, the United States. More information on
Radio Lollipop is available on its website, www.radiolollipop.org,
or at the Miami Children's Hospital website at www.mch.com/patient/radio_lollipop.htm.
The show may have some special guests who are not advertised.
"Our Comedy With a Cause program has successfully raised a lot
of money for other charities while bringing top-notch performances
to South Florida audiences," said THEY Improv director Todd Rice.
"Radio Lollipop has provided humor and enjoyment for audiences
of children at the hospital that truly need to be entertained
the most."
Get tickets at the box office before the show, by calling the
Improv at 305-441-8200 or online from the improv at www.miamiimprov.com.
Make Wednesday a big night for children.
