THEY
improv continues their efforts at supporting local charities by
performing at a benefit for the Children's Home Society of Florida
on August 19th at the Miami Museum of Science and Planetarium. In
this case, THEY improv is performing with most of the top troupes
in South Florida for this worthy cause. Though we are not taking
as active role in running this event as we do in many others, we
want to make this space available to make you aware of this truly
valuable cause.
The Children’s Home Society’s (CHS)
mission is “Embracing Children, Inspiring Lives.” As the state’s
oldest non-profit provider of services to children and families,
CHS has long served South Florida by delivering high quality community-based
solutions to meet the needs of individuals, families, and communities.
Its diverse and talented group of professionals – counselors, social
workers, court liaisons, etc. – is committed to the highest standards
of quality in its programs and operations. They provide leadership
in the development of research-based, solutions-driven programs
for children and their families. Statewide, CHS serves more than
50,000 children and 48,000 adults each year. Over the years, more
than 30,000 children have been permanently adopted through CHS.
Each month locally, an average of 2,500 children and families receive
services from their programs. CHS encourages creative, visionary
ideas from our staff, volunteers, and our community as part of our
continued flexibility in responding to new demands. To make a donation
or for more information go to: http://www.chsfl.org/.
We hope that you will find out more
about the organization on their website, www.chsfl.org,
and find out how you can help. You can also reach their area offices
in Miami at (305) 755-6500.
